In the first release

Workline is not on the Atlassian Marketplace yet. Its first release has what this site describes, and each release after it is listed here with its date.

• The plan

  A row per person, a column per week (4, 8, 12 or 26), each week’s planned hours against the hours they can work, the share as a lozenge, Total and Unscheduled. Under Apps and in a Workline tab in each space.

• Planned hours from Jira

  Remaining estimates of open work items, spread over their start and due dates, else their sprint’s dates, from today on. Late work is planned for today and flagged.

• A person’s work items

  Open a person’s row to see their work items with each week’s hours.

• Working hours

  Jira’s time tracking settings or Workline’s own, each person’s own hours and days, holidays for everyone and a person’s time off.

• Bookings

  Book part of a person’s time with no estimate behind it, on their own words or on a space, an epic or a work item, as a share or hours a week. On a space, an epic or a work item it counts the larger of the booking and the estimated work in it.

• Placeholders

  A row for someone you have not hired yet, with bookings on an epic or work item. Fill it with a person and every booking moves over.

• Move

  Give a work item to someone with room, seeing everyone’s load before and after. Jira reassigns it as you, with a new due date if you give one.

• Plan unscheduled work

  Press a person’s Unscheduled hours: Workline suggests start and due dates in the earliest days they have room, highest priority first. Edit them, then Apply writes them to Jira as you.

• Story points

  Plan in story points where your work items carry them, against each person’s pace over the last 6 weeks or the points a week a Jira admin sets.

• Weeks back

  Add the last 2 or 4 weeks to the plan: the hours each person logged, or the points they finished, against what they could work.

• Roles and rows

  Name roles in the settings, filter the plan by role, and show a row per role, epic or space.

• Tentative bookings

  Mark a booking tentative, and count tentative time or leave it out with the Include tentative switch.

• Work item panel

  On a work item, its assignee’s week with and without it, what fills that week, who has room, and a Move on each person.

• Who can book

  Everyone who can open Workline, or only the groups a Jira admin chooses in the settings.

• Open in Logline

  Each opened person links to the hours they logged, in Logline.

• Teams

  Jira groups a Jira admin offers. A team’s members each get a row, with or without work.

• Filters, counts and downloads

  Team, Weeks, Space, People and Over capacity, then Book time and Placeholder. The people over capacity and with time free. Download as Excel or CSV, and copy a link with every choice in the address.

• Dashboard gadget

  Each person’s next four weeks, over capacity first.

• Settings

  The working week, own hours, holidays, time off and the groups offered as teams, set by a Jira admin.
