Find Dueline and set it up
Dueline works on any work item in Jira Cloud. A Jira admin switches on the rules that apply once; after that, anyone on the response team can qualify a work item, and its reporting clocks start.
The assessment is yours. Dueline asks the questions and works out the dates. Whether a breach or an incident must be reported is your call, and national law may be stricter than the EU rule. Dueline is not legal advice. It sends nothing: you report to the authority yourself, then record it here.
Where to find it
- The Dueline panel on any work item: open it from View app actions, the hexagon under the work item’s title. Before the work item is qualified it says “No reporting clocks” and offers Qualify. See Qualify a work item.
- The register: Apps › Dueline lists every qualified incident, and a space’s Dueline tab lists that space’s. See The register and the gadget.
- The Due next gadget for a Jira dashboard: Add gadget, then pick Dueline. See The register and the gadget.
- Dueline settings under Jira settings › Apps › Dueline settings, for Jira admins. See Settings.
First steps for a Jira admin
- Open Dueline settings and switch on the rules that apply to your organisation: GDPR, NIS2, DORA, CRA. Only those are asked when a work item is qualified.
- Pick the country of your main establishment. DORA needs it.
- Say whether DORA’s weekend rule is off for you, and whether you are a NIS2 trust service provider.
- Add the response team: the people and groups who may qualify and record. Jira admins always may. See The response team.
- Leave Remind the response team on, or switch it off. See Reminders.
- Press Save.
