Reminders
Dueline can comment on a work item when a report’s deadline is near and when it has passed, so the response team is told without anyone watching the panel. It is on by default, and a Jira admin can switch it off in Settings.
What a reminder says
With Remind the response team on, Dueline comments on the work item, mentioning the response team, when a quarter of an open report’s time is left (72 hours gives 18 hours before, a DORA 4 hours gives 1 hour) and when the report has passed its deadline. A report that is late says the article asks for the reasons for the delay. It sends at most those two comments for a report, never for one recorded as sent, and again only if the deadline moves.
Who sees it, and when
- The comment is from Dueline, in the work item’s comments. On Jira Service Management it is internal, so a customer never sees it.
- People on the response team are mentioned, so Jira notifies them. Groups are named in the comment, not expanded: Jira does not let Dueline list a group’s members.
- Dueline checks every five minutes at best, so a reminder may come a few minutes late. The clock on the work item is what counts, and a reminder is never a promise that one comes.
- Nothing is posted while the licence is inactive or before the settings are saved.
The reminder comment is the one thing Dueline writes to Jira beyond its own storage. See What is stored.
