Questions
What buyers ask before they install, how the deadlines are worked out, and what an admin controls.
Before you install
Does our data leave Jira?
No. Inside Jira, no servers. Dueline runs on Atlassian Forge and reads Jira as you. The only thing it writes is its own reminder comment on a work item. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Can I install it yet?
Not yet: Dueline is not on the Atlassian Marketplace. Leave your email for one message the day it is live. The free deadline calculator on this site works now.
What does it cost?
Free up to 10 users, then billed per user by Atlassian, with a 30-day free trial. Every feature is on the free tier. The price per user drops as you grow, and the Marketplace listing shows the exact cost for your site.
Does Dueline send the reports?
No. It shows which reports are due, when and to whom, and keeps the record of what you sent. You file with the authority yourself, then record it on the work item. Nothing leaves Jira.
Does Dueline decide whether a report is due?
No. Qualifying a work item is your assessment: Dueline asks one question for each rule you switched on, with the article’s test beside it, then starts the clocks. National law may be stricter than the EU rule, as NIS2 allows, so check your country’s too. Dueline is not legal advice.
The rules and their deadlines
Which rules does it cover?
GDPR (Art. 33 and 34), NIS2 (Art. 23), DORA (Art. 19, with the time limits of Delegated Regulation 2025/301) and CRA (Art. 14). One work item can start several: an exploited vulnerability in a product that leaks personal data runs CRA and GDPR together.
How are the deadlines worked out?
From the time you became aware and, for DORA, the time you classified the incident as major. Hours are exact hours and one month is the same date the month after. Where the law can be read two ways, Dueline shows the earlier of the two readings. The free calculator on this site uses the same arithmetic.
Does it move a DORA deadline off a weekend?
It shows the later time the rule allows, noon of the next working day, beside the strict deadline. Only weekends are built in, read in your country’s time zone: bank holidays are not, so a deadline Dueline shows can be earlier than the law allows, never later. A competent authority may rule the move out for a significant entity. For credit institutions, central counterparties, trading venues and NIS2 entities the rule does not move the initial and intermediate reports: an admin switches that on in the settings.
Does it say who the report goes to?
What does the country setting do?
An admin picks the country of your main establishment. It sets the time zone a weekend is read in and where a month is counted, and picks the authority each report goes to. DORA needs it, because its weekends decide a deadline.
Privacy and admin
Who can qualify a work item or record a report?
Jira administrators, and the people and groups a Jira admin adds to the response team in Dueline settings. Everyone else who can see the work item sees its clocks.
Does Dueline remind us?
Yes, by default. A comment on the work item, from Dueline, mentions the response team when a quarter of a report’s time is left and when it has passed. Never for a report you recorded as sent. On Jira Service Management the comment is internal, so a customer never sees it. It runs every five minutes at best and may come a few minutes late: the clock on the work item is what counts. An admin can switch reminders off in the settings.
Where is the record kept?
In Forge storage on Atlassian, inside your Jira site: the settings, and for each qualified work item its qualification and the reports recorded. It holds ids, times, account ids and the reference a person wrote, never a work item’s summary, description or fields. Entries are never rewritten: a correction is a new entry. A reminder’s only trace is the report, the kind and the time it was posted, and the comment itself, which lives in Jira like any comment.
What does it read and write in Jira?
It reads the permissions and groups of the person using it, to know who may qualify and record, and for the register the key, summary and space of the qualified work items that person may browse. It never edits a field: the one thing it writes to a work item is its own reminder comment, which needs a Jira write permission used for that alone.
Getting help
What if it doesn’t do what we need?
Ask support first: it may already be a setting. If it is another app, tell us. When other teams need it too, we build it.
