Across spaces

A space’s own Changeline tab counts that space. Apps › Changeline counts several at once: spaces, a saved filter or a JQL search, over the same four keys. Use it for a team that works across spaces, or for a service space that keeps the failures.

Pick the work

  1. Open Apps › Changeline from the Apps menu.

  2. In the scope row, choose one of three:

    • Spaces: pick the spaces to measure. Every release and work item in them counts.
    • A saved filter: pick a filter you can browse. Only the releases that hold one of its work items count, and only its work items and failures.
    • A JQL search: write one, such as project = CHK AND fixVersion = "2.0". Jira checks it as you, so a work item you cannot browse is not counted.
  3. Press Show metrics.

Read it

  • A Period chip sets the last 30, 90, 180 or 365 days. 90 is the default.
  • A Space chip narrows the rows when they come from more than one space. It comes first in the row of chips.
  • The Spaces tab opens first. Four bar charts draw each key as a bar for each space, by name and never ranked, and under them a row for each space with its four keys, so teams sit side by side. It counts every space read, whatever the Space chip says.
  • Copy link keeps the scope, the Period, the Space chip and the tab in the address. Someone who opens it sees the same view, as themselves, for the work they may browse.

A read of more than 5,000 work items is too much to read at once. Changeline says so, and asks for fewer spaces or a shorter period.

If you don’t see Apps

The Changeline app is installed for your site, and the Apps menu holds it. A Jira admin can see every app under Jira settings › Apps. Each space’s own Changeline tab shows the same four keys for that space alone.

What you have now

The four keys for the work you chose, across the spaces you picked, with a row for each space. Next, The tabs shows what each tab counted.
