The dashboard gadget

Add it to a dashboard

Add the Logline gadget to any dashboard like any other gadget, and in its Edit view pick one saved report: the gadget shows that report’s totals. Save the report under Apps › Logline first, and share it with the people who view the dashboard; anyone it is not shared with sees a line saying so. See Saved and shared reports.

What it shows

It leads with the report’s total on one line, as on the report: the hours logged, the dates and, with a billable rule, the billable hours and their amount. Under it, with a billable rule, a bar shows how much of the logged time is billable, and a line names the work items over their estimate, most over first. Then the biggest rows of the report’s first row grouping, each with its hours and its share of the logged time as a bar, with a billable rule split into the billable and the unbilled hours: the first ten, then Show more for the rest. A row that is not a work item says how many of its work items are over their estimate. With rows by work item, each shows its status, and its work ratio when the report has Overspend on. A report saved with Expected and people as rows shows each person’s Expected and how far under or over it they are. Under them, how old the figures are, the time zone the days are counted in, and Open in Logline, which opens the whole report.

A Jira dashboard named Agency overview with the Logline gadget: the saved report Client hours, 652.75h logged from 1 to 30 September, 404.5h billable, USD 56,655, then a row per space with its total, billable hours and amount, Open in Logline, and a last line naming the time zone, America/New_York, and when it was updated.

How fresh it is

It is worked out as the person viewing the dashboard, when the dashboard opens, so nobody sees a worklog Jira hides from them. Rolling periods move with the calendar: on a Monday, Last week has moved on by itself. The gadget has no button of its own: Jira’s reload icon on the gadget, or the dashboard’s Refresh, recalculates it.
