The work item panel
What Logline shows on a work item: its panel, and a glance of it in the Details column.
The panel
On any work item, the Logline panel shows who logged time on it and its children against the estimate. Open it from View app actions, the hexagon under the work item’s title. On a site Jira has not moved to that row yet, it is a named Logline button in the same place. It starts with one grey line of facts, such as “4 child work items · last logged 6 Oct”, with how old the figures are and Recalculate at its right. Under it the figures are rows: Logged, with how far it is from the estimate, such as “2h over the estimate”; Original estimate; Remaining estimate; and Billable, the hours of the billable work items with their amount (“38h $5,700”), when Logline settings set a billable rule, and rates for the amount. On a work item with children that carry estimates, the estimate is theirs and the work item’s own is left out, as Sumline counts it, so nothing is counted twice; it says “(from child work items)” and names, small, the estimates it left out, except a 0, which changes nothing. Under the estimate with nothing left to do, Logged says how far under, such as “9h under the estimate”. A work item with an original estimate and no remaining estimate in Jira gets one worked out, as Sumline does: its original estimate minus the time logged on it, never below 0, and 0 once done. The row then says “(worked out)” and the work items are named under the bar. A done work item’s remaining estimate counts as 0, as Sumline counts it, since Jira does not zero it when a work item closes; the work items are named under the bar, such as “3h remaining on done work items not counted: HLAB-4, HLAB-9”. A work item with no estimate shows what remains. A bar under the rows shows Logged of estimate with its share at the right, as a lozenge in the colours of the work ratio, the bar in the same colour: green within the estimate, orange up to 120% (117%), red past that. With no estimate but a remaining estimate it shows Time tracking, the time logged against the time logged plus what remains, as Jira’s field of that name does. Under the bar, in red, a line names the child work items over their own estimate, the most over first, such as “2 child work items over their estimates: HLAB-2 117% and HLAB-7 105%”; there is no line when none is over. In grey, a line names the child work items with time logged and no original estimate, such as “Time logged, with no original estimate: HLAB-4, HLAB-9”, when the work item or another child has an estimate, so a team that never estimates sees no line. The people who logged time follow as names with their hours, most hours first, ten at a time. A table of child work items appears when a child work item has time logged on it, laid out as Sumline’s child table: its key and name (the key struck through once done), its status, the hours on it, its original estimate when it has one, and its work ratio: green up to its estimate, orange to 120%, red past that; the child work item most over its estimate first, ten rows at a time; a Jira admin can turn it off in Settings. Recent worklogs appears when a Jira admin turns it on in Settings; it lists the last five worklogs on the work item and its child work items, newest first: the day, who logged it, the hours, the child work item’s key (its name on hover) when it is a child’s, and the comment.

Open in Logline opens the report on the work item and its children, over every day they were logged on, with each worklog and its comment.
In the Details column
The same grey line of facts and the bar are also in the work item’s Details column, under Logline, on a work item with time logged, sub-tasks or child work items, as a glance without opening the panel, laid out as Sumline’s: Logged and Original estimate as rows (Billable too, with its amount, when a billable rule is set), the bar, the line naming the child work items over their estimates, and any estimate left out. The people stay in the panel. Jira may show the group closed until you open it.
