How much time did I log in Jira this week?
Checked against Atlassian’s documentation on 12 October 2026.
You log time on several issues a day, and on Friday you want to see your week in one place before you submit it. On Atlassian Community it reads “is there one location that I could log my time or even see my time summary?” (Community, April 2026). This page shows how close Jira gets by itself, then what Logline does.
With Jira’s own tools
- The issues you logged on this week: save a filter
worklogAuthor = currentUser() AND worklogDate >= startOfWeek()and add it to a dashboard as a Filter results gadget. Every issue you logged on this week is a click away. - Your hours on each: an issue’s Work log tab, in its activity, lists every worklog on it with the author, date, time and comment. One issue at a time.
- The catch: the filter’s Time spent column is each issue’s total, for everyone and for all time. Your own weekly figure means adding your entries from each issue’s Work log tab. The filter can also list an issue you logged on last year if a colleague logged on it this week; Jira worklogs in a date range says why.
Atlassian’s knowledge base answers the same question for any one person with a Python script over the REST API, since “there is no existing native way to achieve this using JQL or Dashboard Gadgets” (Atlassian, September 2025).
With Logline
Logline is our app. Your own week is a report you save once:
- Open Apps › Logline and pick This week (or Last week).
- Edit report › People › Only me, then Show report. Only me means whoever opens the report.
- Set Rows to Issue. Columns on Auto gives a column per day, with each issue’s total first and the day totals at the foot.
- Open the Worklogs tab for each of your worklogs: date, issue, hours and comment, newest first. The count line adds up what is shown.
- Save it. Shared with your team, the same report shows each person their own week, and the Logline gadget puts it on a dashboard.
Logging time stays where it is: people keep using Jira’s own Log work, and Logline only reads the worklogs. Every view is described in Getting started and the Worklogs tab in The Worklogs view. For a whole team, see A weekly Jira timesheet for your team. More on the Logline home page.
