Getting started

Logline works on install. There is nothing to set up: it reads the worklogs your teams already log in Jira. A Jira admin can change the defaults later in Settings.

Under Apps

Open Apps › Logline. A report of the last 30 days opens at once, across every space you can see, with one row per person and their issues under them, split by week. Under the period, one line says what you are looking at, such as “577.75h logged · 1 Sep – 30 Sep · times in Europe/Riga”, and the grid has a total on every row and column, plus a grand total.

  • Change the period with the chips at the top (Last week, This week, Last month, This month, Last 30 days), or pick another under More periods, Custom range included. See Periods, days and time zones.
  • Choose Edit report to change what the rows and columns are. See Rows and columns.
  • Switch from Timesheet to Worklogs to list every worklog with its comment. See The Worklogs view.
  • Save keeps the report for next time, Save as new keeps a copy, and Share gives it to others. Saved reports lists them, and New report starts again. See Saved and shared reports.

In a space

The same report, limited to one space, is Logline in every space’s sidebar.

On an issue

On any issue, the Logline panel shows who logged time on it and its children, week by week, against the estimate. Its first line sums it up, such as “14h logged · estimate 12h”, with the share of the estimate in red when the time logged is over it (117%). Under it are the time By person, with the day each person last logged, and a chart of the Last 8 weeks.

Logging time

Logline only reads worklogs. People keep logging time the way they do today, with Jira’s own Log work or any app that writes Jira worklogs.
