Across spaces

Under Apps in Jira’s sidebar, Sumline shows one table for any set of spaces, a saved filter or a JQL query.

Pick what to roll up

Sumline under Apps in the left sidebar shows the same table for any set of spaces, a saved filter or a JQL query. Pick Spaces, Saved filter or JQL under Scope, choose, and press Roll up; nothing is fetched until you do. A filter or a query gives the rows as the epics and initiatives it finds, read as written, done ones too, with everything under them; Jira checks the query first and says what is wrong with it. A link opens on what you can see: a filter or space in it that you cannot open is left out. Each row’s key names its space. Its rows open the same way.

While the scope you pick differs from the one rolled up, the table steps aside and says what to do: “Pick a saved filter, then press Roll up. Nothing is fetched until you do.”

Sumline under Apps, with APP, PAY and WEB picked and rolled up, sorted by % by estimate: 50 work items, 13 to do, 10 in progress and 27 done, then a Total line and twelve epics, two done at 100%, nine in progress and one not started at 0%. Each epic shows its priority, points done of total, assignee, status, original estimate, time logged, remaining time and both percentages, and three carry “unestimated” warnings.
