Settings

Only Jira administrators can change Workline’s settings, under Jira settings › Apps › Workline settings. They apply to every space on the site, and every plan uses them from its next read.

Working week

Workline settings: the working week from Jira’s time tracking or Workline’s own, one person’s part-time hours, a company day off for everyone, one person’s time off, and the Jira groups offered as teams.
Workline settings: the working week, part-time hours, holidays, time off and the groups offered as teams

Choose Use Jira’s time tracking (its hours a day and days a week, shown beside the choice) or Set Workline’s own: hours a day, above 0 and up to 24, in quarter hours, and the working days, at least one.

Part-time and own hours

People whose hours a day or working days differ from the working week. Search for a person, Add person, then set their hours, their days, or both. A part left empty uses the working week’s. Remove puts the week’s hours back.

Holidays

Days nobody works: a day and its name. They count as no hours for everyone.

Time off

Days one person does not work: the person, from and to, both included.

Teams

The Jira groups the plan’s Team filter offers. A team’s members each get a row, with or without work. See Teams.

Roles

The roles your people play, such as Backend developer or Designer: a name each, up to 50, without repeating one. Give role gives a person one; a person has one, and picking them again changes it. The plan can then filter by role and show a row per role. See Roles and rows.

Story points

Points a week, for everyone, and a person’s own Points a week: how many story points a person does in a week, above 0 and at most 1,000, to a tenth. Left empty, it is what they finished in the last 6 weeks. A person’s own wins over the site’s. See Story points.

Bookings

Who may book time, add placeholders and fill them: Everyone who can open Workline, the default, or Chosen groups, with the groups picked beside it. Pick at least one group, or everyone books. Jira admins are not let in over the setting: they change it. Someone who cannot book sees no Book time, Placeholder, Edit, Delete or Fill with a person. Moving a work item to someone else is Jira’s to allow, not this setting’s. See Book time, Placeholders and Move work.

Press Save. Until then nothing changes. More on how these shape a plan: Working hours and holidays.

Anyone who is not an admin

Sees the settings page say that only Jira admins can change them, and sees the plan as the settings make it. Whether they can book is the Bookings setting’s.
