Working hours and holidays

The share in each cell is planned hours against the hours a person can work. Those hours come from the working week, a person’s own hours, the holidays and their time off, set by a Jira admin in Settings.

The working week

By default it is Jira’s time tracking: its hours a day and days a week (Jira settings › Work items › Time tracking). Change it in Jira and every plan follows on its next read. Or choose Set Workline’s own: hours a day above 0 and up to 24, in quarter hours, and the working days.

Part-time and own hours

Add a person under Part-time and own hours with their own hours a day, their own working days, or both. A part left empty uses the working week’s. The plan shows a part-time person’s hours under their name, such as 6h a day, Mon–Thu, and a week with no working days for them says Off.

Holidays

Add each day nobody works, with its name: public holidays, company days off. A holiday counts as no hours for everyone. The plan names the holidays in the weeks shown in a grey line under the table.

Time off

Add the days one person does not work, from and to both included. It counts as no hours for that person alone. The plan says how many days off a person has in the weeks shown.

What it changes in the plan

Fewer hours to work means a higher share for the same planned hours: a week with a holiday turns yellow or red sooner. Work planned in a week a person is off is shown against no hours, and its hover says so.

Holidays apply to placeholders and to bookings, which give no hours on those days. Time off applies to a person, not to a placeholder.

Workline does not read anyone’s calendar or an absence app: the days are the ones you enter.
